Kaveri Benchmarks Revealed! AMD Kaveri's GPU is R5-N200

This Speaks for itself!

Intel HD 5200 Iris with eDRAM is now pathetic compared to a DDR3 1600 Mhz Kaveri system. Watch HuMA and HSA at  work with that memory bandwidth as well as General Purpose Cryptography up to near 500% the performance (+400%) of Iris 5200 and up to ~840% the performance (~+740%) vs the 8670D! Both systems are running with 1600 Mhz DDR3.

Kaveri's GPU is essentially an underclocked 7790 with DDR3 instead of GDDR5 with only 1 CU disabled. This means Kaveri's GPU will sport 832 Stream Processors and overshoots the original estimates and rumours of 512 stream processors by alot! Stock clock will be 600 Mhz but there is no word if there will be a turbo clock implemented but my guess is YES! :)

And Now that Kaveri motherboards have entered the enthusiast field, I'd love to see 2400-2600 Mhz DDR3 testing! This is a GREAT time for 2400 Mhz purchasing aswell, as the price is only marginally higher than 1866 or 2133 Mhz options. Asus claims a +30% increase in performance on their Kaveri FM2+ page here going from 1333-2133 Mhz! So compare the above results at 1600 Mhz to a theoretical system with 2600 Mhz DDR3!

What do you guys think?

  1. Too bad AMD IS PRETTY MUCH DEAD already!!!

  2. Oh please Kaveri will have to compete with Broadwell and Intel will hand AMD's ass back to them on a sliver platter.

  3. Uh...GPGPU is irrelevant what matters is gaming performance and power consumption. Which AMD FAILS with flying colors at. Basically Kaveri SUCKS ASS and Intel will WIN AGAIN OH YEAH!!!!!

  4. Funny you mention power efficiency ...

    Kaveri with R5-M200 @ 832 cores + 2600 Mhz DDR3

    65W - 100W TDP

    Intel i3 3220 + Nvidia 650 Ti @ 768 cores + 2600 Mhz DDR3

    165W TDP

Not only does the intel + nvidia combo cost over double the AMD Kaveri system, it also has significantly higher power consumption! Ontop of that, it falls behind in both CPU and GPU performance!

    1. Nope the Intel/Nvidia combo of awesomeness CAN'T BE BEAT!!! Don't be so sure AMD is known for making POWER HOGGING chips up the wazoo and S**TROLLER will be NO EXCEPTION to AMD's SUCKINESS!!!! AMD is only as good as the Radeon 7790 which is PATHETIC and can't even compete with the Nvidia 650Ti.

    2. You got that wrong.
AMD HD 7790 is better than that GTX 650 Ti.
What you were referring to is the GTX 650 Ti Boost.
Get it right or don't get it at all.

  5. Iris is too much of a joke to even be held as a competition for Kaveri's IGPU. You just wont admit you were wrong jm12 and its hilarious.

    1. So what AMD will use 3 TIMES THE POWER as Intel's AWESOME HASWELL!!! SO the PPW is STILL NON-EXISTENT with AMD products and that's what I am looking for. AMD's Kaveri will win the IGP department sure but it's power usage like EVERY OTHER AMD product will be OFF THE CHARTS!!!!

      Delete
    2. It will take years for the Power Consumption to hover over the Haswell's price for the processor alone. Years where you are still saving choosing AMD. You just didn't catch that boat and had to swim.
Also, AMD released a low-powered A10-6700T, 65W and it still kicks arse.

Same will go for the AMD Kaveri, cheaper and more powerful while still saving for years over the price of Intel's Broadwell.

    3. Nope the 65 watt version uses just as much as the 100 watt version hence the BIG problem AMD has. But it sucks for small low power PC's which I want.

  6. He will just revert to his mockery ways, like "If AMD is winning now, Intel will bring the next generation and beat it," which is obvious.
What he fails to realize is that AMD will later bring its another generation and compete with the up-coming Intel generation.

I still believe that AMD is behind and the true comparison is Sandy Bridge i3-i7. I don't care which benchmark test sites favor what, benchmarks show that AMD's 8 core processor fall behind i3 Ivy Bridge on many games, this should have been fixed on Piledriver, hopefully it is now.

    1. Nope AMD still hasn't fixed that problem but Steamroller might fix that. AMD is WAY BEHIND and will NEVER catch up. Intel Broadwell will give AMD a run for its money in the IGP department and CRUSH AMD on power usage and CPU performance. In all in all AMD LOSES INTEL WINS THE BIG ONE OH YEAH!!!!!!!

    2. Here you go again, I rest my case.
You will never admit that Intel can be taken down, as it has been taken down before.

      Delete
    3. Oh how can Intel be taken down I don't see it being possible?

    1. No because it WON'T HAPPEN!!! AMD sucks and you fanboi's are making me want AMD to dead just to shut you're stupid asses up.

  8. LOL this is your lowest point ever Jesse .. you think I make stuff up when I give you guys legitimate kaveri benchmarks not rumours.. The TDP is 100W for this chip, but they will have a 45W TDP model with similar GPU but a significantly lower clock for the CPU. Iris is 57W remember. Once 4K becomes the standard AMD's APUs will be in the right spot. Broadwell only promises 100% more GPU power than iris 5200 and 30% less power than haswell.. which puts it over 300% behind Kaveri in GPU performance and roughly the same 45W TDP. By the time Broadwell is out in desktops (2015) AMD will be onto 20nm GDDR5 socket motherboards with Excavator which will have ~7950-7970 performance in an APU by 2015. Remember the PS4 has a ~7870 already in an APU... just with significantly worse CPU power (8 low clock jaguar vs 4 high clock excavator).

    1. I already know about kaveri and so what there will be 45 watt versions that means NOTHING because 45 and 65 watt version use THE SAME AMOUNT OF POWER as their 100 watt counterparts so ITS WORTHLESS!!!! It'll be too late for AMD R.I.P. 1969-2014. FACE IT AMD IS DEAD GET OVER IT ALREADY!!!! Wrong Intel has the TDP advantage NOT AMD!!! Desktops don't matter anymore MORON!!! Broadwell will be out in 2014 no later and it will Crush Kaveri in the GROUND!!!! AMD won't be around to take advantage of 20nm SORRY!!!! Remember AMD's LOUSY track record for delivering products on time will be their BIGGEST DOWNFALL!!! Remember this INTEL WILL CRUSH AMD INTO NOTHINGNESS!!!!

      Delete
    2. Face it! AMD is still alive, get over it already!
      Desktops still matter, moron!
Broadwell might surpass Richland but not Kaveri.
You can only guesstimate but you can be incorrect. You are probably drinking from the make-belief Kool-Aid to believe that AMD will not be around to take advantage of the 20nm wafers.
A product on-time that is lousy can't compare with one that is delayed and better-performing, it can even be its UPBRINGING!
Intel will not crush AMD into nothingness, get out of your make-belief world and join the real one.

      Delete
  9. AMD's TDP is only plagued by their CPU, but this will be significantly changed with excavator as the flagship Excavator models will be 65W instead of 100W

    1. Wrong again because AMD won't be around for 2015. AMD has one foot in the grave and the other soon to fall in. Dumb fanbois like you can't see that Intel is THE BEST and will ALWAYS BE THE BEST!!!!! SO what Kaveri has a faster IGP it still uses 20 watts OR MORE POWER while broadwell will use far less.

  10. WRONG... The A10-6700T has 45W TDP

    http://static.betazeta.com/www.chw.net/up/2013/09/A10-6700T-consumo.jpg

Look how the power consumption is nearly HALF!

And GPU performance is identical to that found in a 100W A10-6800k.

AMD is stepping up its game.

    2. Still NOT GOOD ENOUGH Sorry. Intel is still FAR SUPERIOR especially in power consumption. AMD will NEVER WIN Face it INTEL has WON AMD has LOST!!!!

  11. Your i3 has a 55W TDP ... meanwhile the A10-6700T has a 45W TDP

  12. so wait so amd is dead..
    a dead company that makes
1)all the cpu/gpu for next gen consoles..
2)is the one that actually almost all the games will be based upon (remember what nvidia said about consoles before amd took over the deal and how butthurt they got after they saw that not only physicx didnt got it but not even the cuda arc..yes yes we all remember how they tried to be on top of amd after that but they got trolled hard)
3)they are by far the best cards out there if you actually compare them like they are and not wearing a fanboys glass..
4)they rebranded ONCE in their lifetime and that because they didnt have time to finish the next arc..remind me again how many time nvidia has rebranded cards? back to fx5xxx..?
5)yes amd dont have such a great cpu they are still 10-15% behind BUT tell me something who the hell in the real world will ever notice that difference? casual people not at all
gamers? only the idiots that thinks that 1-2 fps more will make a difference
    bench are made
6)tdp seriously what if it has 10w less of 20-30w less you will see it in your electricity bill?yeah maybe after 10-15 years of consuming you will see an actually reduce so lol here too..
7)also lol again about amd to be dead.. people keep forgetting that behind amd is ibm(90% of the patents used are freely distr by them to amd.. and by 2014 they will start to built the new arch for their cpu with ibm help fact to be spoken about)

sure intel makes great cpu and they have the best perfomance per core but that is because microsoft has desing windows like that they never took multitasking seriously and they will never do so no matter what amd do it still wont be able to catch intel they just make cpus for the whole range of media tasking which is demanding by multithreading and not per single core perfomance
8)amd actually wokred all of this time with canonical (meh...)ms and sony to create linux and freebsd drivers specificly for their products so bang

in sick and tired of fan boys that keep saying inte and amd are going down because of nothing get your fucking facts right for once and stop being a butthurt intel is good in cpu and its terrible in whatever has to do with graphics
amd is good in gpu and ok in cpu this is the truth deal with it and stop acting like a kid presenting lies as a fact or trying to make a fact out of nothing to support your thesis..

  13. Hey JML12, i got 4 words to you: HSA, HUMA, MANTLE, SteamOS.

HSA and HUMA will boost AMD Hardware up from 50-500%, now if we add MANTLE into the mix which claims to be 9 nine times faster than DirectX... aaaand if we also add Valve SteamOS 30% performance boost over Windows Ports... AMD will be THE King of gaming in the next 5 years, and by a heck ton of difference.

    1. Truth is I am really starting to not like Intel all that much. Its great that AMD is finally allowing their video cards to be fully accessed. SteamOS will most likely use both AMD and Intel hardware so the extra 30% is for both not just AMD. But will MANTLE work on Linux and OpenGL that is the real question. HSA and HUMA will take time to develop for so the so called benefits are not entirely as much as people think they might be. Still Intel is the Hands down leader in low power CPU's and I don't think AMD is going to dethrone Intel anytime soon IF they ever do. Intel is just too far ahead of AMD for AMD to catch up.

    2. AS of now, Intel has the best most powerful and efficient CPUs, no one argues that.

Just hold on tight, AMD will massively boost Gaming Performance very soon.

nVidia can play along since all AMD new tech will be open, but Intel will be blown out to dust with HSA/Huma and Mantle.

    3. That is true but putting together an Intel system is quite delicate can sometimes be quite frustrating. Really this I would actually like to see no really. Nvidia by far still has the best Linux drivers while everyone else has bad or mediocre drivers. Here take a look at this: https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2013/09/26/dolphin-emulator-and-opengl-drivers-hall-fameshame/. And yes I know its more than just Intel, Nvidia and AMD on that page but it demonstrates my point. Not that AMD won't get better because I am sure that they will but topping Nvidia in the driver department is some I don't think AMD can do. Kaveri sounds interesting thought. Kabini is really nothing special i'm afraid and Intel haswell beats it in both performance and power consumption.

  14. Some of the comments here are lolsome. Do Intel really pay mental patients to post on blog comments like this? Heh.

Looking forward to Kaveri, APUs so far have been great but JUST shy of the video performance needed, and much better value than Intel/low end card combos,
