  1. Pulling Benchmarks out of thin air are were? Where did you get those? Intel is still superior on the desktop and they are dominating in the mobile sector due to Haswell. AMD stands NO CHANCE against the Almighty INTEL!!!!!

    2. No it just that AMD is not impressive and one more slip up and they are toast. Not even console will save them. And what do you mean by muppet?

      Delete
    3. That you're a fanboy. You've got no data to back your shit up. You're just trying to justify your purchase. You're whoring yourself to a brand without being paid. That's a muppet.

    4. AMD has the monopoly of the next gen consoles now, most PC games are console ports, I'd rather have an AMD cpu next year than an Intel one, more compatible, and a fairer price.

Intel has lost out thanks to their arrogance and greed.

      Delete
    5. No its AMD who has lost this one. Winning all three consoles means less than NOTHING!!!! Two of the three suck ass and the third is mediocre at best. AMD is not the fair company you think it is. Last gen it would mean something but now its worth squat Intel has won this war. Mobile is the future and AMD has lost big time.

    6. Stephen, Sony is in trouble because more demand is exceeding supply. Yup, not enough PS4s for all the people that want them, that is another huge plus for AMD. We will have many users using PS4, not sure on the Xbox side, but we sure to have games optimized for AMD from here-on out.

AMD might have more of a chance here.

      Delete
    7. But still won't be enough to save if they keep on holding back and pulling stupid stunts like this CPU. PS4 the only decent next-gen console the other two suck and aren't going to sell very well. AMD might have more of chance but don't worry Intel will step their game up and will use less power and be faster than AMD.

    8. I agree jml you are kind of a fanboy. I love Intel as much as you do, but you have to look at facts. The 8 core AMD processor was mostly made because it has that amount of physical cores, and its MUCH cheaper. The architecture is NOT going to be PC architecture like everyone thinks. It will be more than previous consoles, but to get BF4 running 60 FPS with graphics better than BF3 on the pc, on the PS4, is just a fantasy. At best it'll look like BF3 medium settings. Plus it'll still be 720p, not 1080p.

Last but not least. Their best processor as of right now, the 8350, it's equivalent to an i5-3570k, which can be beaten by a 3770k, 3820, 3930k, and the whole Extreme series. The only think it beats it in is OpenCL, which really, unless all you do is make and render videos or have a tight budget, is not to much worth to get.

Honestly, on a TRUE basis, AMD fanboys (no offence) are really just people that don't have enough to buy the better processor. My system has a GTX 780 and a watercooled 3930k @ 4.5 Ghz. Pretty intense, but when you have the money, it's worth it to use it. A Billionaire Gamer won't get a full AMD dual GPU system, he'll probably get a 3930k, or Extreme Series CPU with Dual way Titan's (much less heat produced), all water cooled. Yeah a lot of games don't use more than 4 cores, but if you know some coding and have a kick-ass system, you can make it run better.

  3. AMD FX 9590 is a complete TURD, 220 Max TDP seriously? if they would had stay at 140 Max TDP it would had been great... we still do not know how much AMD wants for these shits, if the price is right they may just be tolerable, otherwise another fail in AMD CPU department.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yeah I have to agree with you on this one. What was AMD thinking? Epic fail is more like it.

    2. This version isn't a consumer cpu lol.

    3. Next gen consoles all AMD hardware, now that is funny, developers wont be developing for the new Intel Haswell architecture or should I say HASBEEN hahaha!

      Delete
    4. Intel haswell is AWESOME it is NOT a has been!!!! Sure AMD temash might use a bit less power but Intel haswell is 3 to 5 times faster CPU wise and at least twice as fast IGP wise. Intel has mobile covered and with Intel haswell 2.0 Intel will crush AMD into the ground.

      Delete
    5. I am pretty sure that Intel will make up new ways to get AMD to fall back down. I mean, that is the biggest reason AMD was falling behind in development, because Intel was cutting their resources. First by bribing companies, so AMD was losing revenue and profits.

Of course, AMD is not backing down, and these Intel supporters don't know the truth much and want to see AMD fall. Pathetic, man, very pathetic indeed.

      Delete
    6. I already read that article but it doesn't prevent AMD from falling for good. Intel has the right Idea and AMD mostly has the wrong idea. If AMD is smart they will invest in a mobile future because Mobile CPU's are the future not power hogging desktop CPU's.

    7. There was a Part 2, if you didn't read.
In the end, I buy AMD because I feel like it. It comes down to personal choice.
(It's like saying don't buy from China because of the way they treat their employees. Yet, we buy what we want even if it is a problem. (Power Consumption, Suffering of Chinese workers, pollution because we want a hairspray so badly, etc.)

You can keep preaching Power Consumption and IPC, but I will always buy AMD because it is my personal choice.
I make up 5% of the ones using the least power in my apartments (over 2000 apartments), while other neighbors have tons of appliances that hog up like 50+ times more watts, so my consumption doesn't even phase the landlord. Also, the FX-4100 is more than what I need, so I am set.

    8. I see you are as blind as a bat and I am glad Intel is offing people like you because enthusiasts take away from what me and the market wants. You buy AMD because you're a grade A IDIOT!!!! You remind me of one of my IDIOT brothers.

      Delete
    9. Everyone that buys AMD is an idiot then, you have mental problems believing like that.
You are at no right to label someone for their decisions, just because it is idiotic to you.
You are a demented child and need to grow up and respect people that don't judge you.
I said that I buy what I want, not that you are an idiot or anything just because you are bound to your decision.

You probably didn't read Part 2.
Intel is a huge corporation and they can use money to bribe companies to get what they want, even make other companies suffer. And they just drop the prices to get what they want, this is normal for a company, but to make it harder for another company, if AMD fails Intel will be labeled as a monopoly and watch people rise and make it harder for Intel to make sales and for them to keep prices down. Your belief is anti-American (Freedom for everyone (every company) to prosper).

      Delete
    10. Apparently, to jml, even those that just go to a store and buy a computer are iditos if they pick AMD.
Regular users don't buy because of processor brand, they go by the Manufacturer brand (Sony, HP, Dell, etc.), and they look at the processor speed and RAM.
So, AMD processors are faster in processors, people will but those, AMD processors might come cheaper and have more RAM, people will buy those.
So, get over yourself and don't judge others unless they judge you.
I am AMD because I feel like it, not because of it being worse or better than Intel, I just go and buy what I want.
You can't judge me for being me, that is prejudice.

      Delete
    11. Yep that's right because Intel is far superior to AMD in every respect. My money goes to Intel because AMD can't make something that is as fast and uses at little power. I'll admit the PS4 looks pretty good and its the only decent next gen consoles the other two can and will flop like crazy. No You're right I can't judge you for being you however I can judge you for being a blind AMD fanboi. Intel is so far ahead that AMD doesn't have a chance at this point.

      Delete
    12. Actually you're wrong I think with my brain unlike you AMD fanboi. Yes people are idiots for buying AMD when Intel has a better product. To Counter AMD just needs to make a better product its how the market works. Of Course AMD needs to improve both power consumption and IPC in order to even compete with Intel.

      Delete
    13. I get straight As in school and in College, just to be told that I am an idiot and don't know anything for choosing AMD.

I am buying the next AMD, living an idiotic life and you will end up being a janitor in one of my offices, that is how you seem to be heading towards.

You probably were too blind that you couldn't see on that YouTube video comparing performance with the FX-8350 and the i5-3570, where in some cases the FX-8350 has more frames.
Then they tested the watts over the course of 3 years and you still have $30 advantage over Intel's i5.
By the the end of the 3 years, we will have another PC and the latest FX and/or Intel i5, so you still save entirely more going with AMD, so it is not stupid to go AMD and you are the one that is blind.

      Delete
    14. Actually yes that is correct. I'd admit getting straight A's while its impressive all it means is that you study hard and don't do anything else. Yawn College is not an indicator of intelligence and your a fool for thinking that. I somehow doubt that actually unlike you who goes to college because society says that's the norm I will only go because I want to not because I am forced to like your doing. Which video are you talking about blind AMD Fanboi? Intel's Core i5 uses half the power of the FX-8350 which sucks down power like no tomorrow. No every benchmark and graph has told me to stay away from AMD's lackluster CPU's. Where is the proof that AMD is better? Because I don't see it.

    16. jml12 admit it, you are an intel fan boy.. even if these benchmarks are fake, still, amd's 8350 is not 'shit' at all! It beats the i5s in multithreading and costs lower, yeah intel did win the war in the 'high ends' but Amd has impressive price/performance ratio which makes it a good choice.. Amd's two main problems are the TDP, AND Single thread performance is lacking! But still, Amd keeps up with gaming with i5 and beats i5 at video editing while costing lower and that is what we want, better value for the money.. and you claim that 'Haswell' is BOMB! no it's not -_- especially in desktop it has improved built in gpu and better power consumption.. yes it's good for mobile but in desktop, Intel haven'y improved much performance. If you compare the second gen of intel (2500k) and compare it with an i5 of 4th gen, to be honest, performance is very similar (5--10% better in some situation) while thier single threading performance is similar also.. Intel will probably release an 8 core i7 high end to still keep winnig against intel .. (remmember: there 6 core i7 has 2 extra cores Disabled!) Still, Amd is not as bad as you are thinking and it's not that Intel is just the 'Dominant!' because AMD can still improve it's performance by just improving the new bulldozer architecture to give off a better single threaded performance.. that way, the competition will be again very close..!! it's not how you think you little intel fan :p

      Delete
    17. Multithreading IS still almost worthless for gaming!!!! Most programs don't use 8 cores and only a few use 4 cores if that. The Intel Core i5-4670K is the way to go for gaming AMD can't hold a candle to it. By the way I care a lot about mobile because it as fast as desktops but uses FAR LESS POWER. Single Thread Performance IS KING AND AMD can't touch Intel in IPC!!!

      Delete
  4. The TDP of 220W is just a misinterpretation, actual power consumption differences for the whole system in comparison to an intel one will remain reasonably close depending if your power supply is sufficient (most are 500W or greater which is more than enough to run a FX 9590 + 7870 Ghz)

Theres a reason AMD can do this and intel can't.. since sandy bridge max overclocks on intels chips have dropped about 100-150mhz each revision.. reviews hitting 5.2 ghz with a 2600k but only ~4.6 ghz with a 4770k pretty much means stagnant total performance. AMD is taking a different stance, releasing 5 Ghz chips stock means overclocks are ensured to be higher than 5 ghz every single time, and out of the box performance will be significantly higher than intels when all threads are used .. also getting AMD back in the game with enthusiast gamers (in the next few years games will typically use more than just 4 cores in sync with next gen consoles). Wait for FX 9590 crysis 3 benchmarks vs i5 4670k.

The general idea is that from 1st gen - 4th gen, AMD has and will continue show greater increases in performance per core than intel. Now to counter this fact, intel will increasing core counts by haswell extreme.

    1. You are an AMD fanboi thought and thought. AMD's power usage is god awful exceeding their TDP several times over and this 220 watt TDP monster is no exception. 1. No I am not an Intel fanboi its just Intel is the only one that has what I need!!!! Only a few times and it sucked every time!!! Wrong Intel's i5 blasts AMD sky high into oblivion. Intel is so much faster and uses so much less power than AMD that AMD will never catch up.

    2. Have you benchmarked an 8350/9590/9650?.

If not, you're talking out of your arse. Grow up and leave.

If you have, show the data. We can't wait.

    3. I won't leave and you guys are AMD fanbois. No because I don't AMD's PIECE OF SHIT CPU's because they are crap and Intel is better at everything compared to these truds!!! Oh by the way the FX 9000 series is just a rebrand with higher clock and MUCH MUCH higher power consumption and price!!!!!

  6. Temash GPU performance is equivalent to any intel tablet processor available today, and has much higher battery life traded off for cpu performance.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Wrong Intel's HD 4200 will crush Temash into the ground and use about the same amount of power. Intel Atom 22nm will crush the living daylights out of Temash and have even better battery life. Intel haswell will be in tablets and it will rock out loud.

      Delete
    2. You keep talking about what's to come and will beat what AMD is offering today. Of course Intel will make their next generation better in some aspect, performance in CPU and maybe GPU, but that is what we know already.

And while the HD 4200 beats the Temash GPU, and that is if it beats AMD's Temash GPU, AMD's next build will crush the HD 4200, and this is normal.
I don't care about battery on a laptop, I usually always have my laptop plugged in.
I don't care about the CPU on Intel being better, I usually just watch videos on 720p. AMD and Intel can both do 720p like nothing, so I am okay just getting whatever I want and I want AMD. You want Intel, everyone wins.

      Delete
    3. Intel haswell is coming very soon and it will beat the crud out of AMD. Don't worry your choice at this rate will soon vanish. Intel will be your only choice MWHAHAHAHAH In a few years time for x86. Unless AMD pulls a rabbit out of its hat which IT WON'T AMD is not capable of making great products AMD is FINISHED!!!!

      Delete
    4. Once again, AMD is generations behind in development. I have said this before, so the best and latest from AMD is not meant to compete with Intel's latest, rather Intel's processors from 2 years behind. AMD is playing catch up, and don't compare 2 processors from different architecture, that is an uneven field. Current AMD processors are 32nm on desktop and 28 with Jaguar, so you can't compare those with Intel's 22nm. You are full of it and need to get your act together, I hope you are not "Specially Gifted" and you are a child if you keep at it with "Intel wins because..."
No one is saying that AMD is wins because, we are just saying that AMD is not backing down.
Someday you will grow up and understand how to respect people, but right now we will have to suffer it, like AMD is suffering to Intel for their advantages.

      Delete
    5. I hate to tell you this the fact that AMD is generations behind in development is their problem NOT MINE!!! I compare what AMD has out to what Intel has out right now. Also AMD doesn't make chips fast enough to compete with Intel. However Intel is slowing down and maybe AMD might be competitive soon when the CEO's plans actually take effect. I buy what is best on the market and that is BY FAR INTEL. Yes I will compare AMD 32nm to Intel 22nm because that is what is out right MR. AMD FANBOI!!!!

      Delete
    6. You said "I compare what AMD has out to what Intel has out right now," so why do you keep talking about Haswell's Atoms that are not out yet?
You are like, "So what, hahaha, the coming up Atoms will beat AMDs and be lower in TDP."

Also, you are too messed up to make a big deal over 1 extra watt. (Atoms will have 14W and beat AMDs 15W) Seriously, for one watt you make a gloat over?

Of course the coming up will be better for both companies in some form, that is expected. You just contradicted yourself.
You are like that kid in Big Daddy, playing the game called "I win."

      "Why do you win?"
      "Because I win."

Then you throw "AMD fanboy" all the time at us, so yeah, shows your age.

Intel won't be my only choice, I will go with later ARM, which has lower TDP than Intel and has enough performance for my needs. Just because it is faster it doesn't mean I need it.

If I am an idiot for choosing AMD, you are an idiot for choosing Intel, you Intel fanboy. Just for the fact that you call people an idiot for picking what they want, you are equally an idiot for picking on them for their choice. Your IPC and TDP don't mean anything to me and many, I will still buy what I want.

      Delete
    7. You're joking Intel's atom uses at least 5 watts less than kabini NOT ONE. If its just a few watts I am going to care if said product is better. Of Course IPC and TDP mean nothing to you because you are a Grade A 100% classic IDIOT!!!! Intel haswell has no atoms or Pentiums or celerons for that matter. Intel's new 22nm Atom will cover Pentium and celeron lines from here on out. AMD IS TOAST!!!! You Naive fool ARM cortex A-15 uses a lot of power as well. Intel's new Atoms use far less power and they are twice as AWESOME!!!!! No I am not a fanboi unlike you who ONLY BUYS AMD!!!! I go for the best option possible and just happens TO BE INTEL ALL THE WAY!!!!

      Delete
    8. You said 14 in one of your replies, I guess you were lying.

Also, I did mention that I have an i3-540 with a GT 440 GPU, and I was using it before I got my AMD FX-4100 processor desktop and an GTX 660.

Who said that I am buying based on the A-15 anyways? You think too much about who is doing what.
Man, no one cares which one is better, we just go for the one that is more affordable. Some manufacturers will charge a lot for some Atoms and people will rather buy AMD laptops. If they can both run Firefox and 1080p in videos, no one will care which one they get. Battery life is almost redundant nowadays, most people use their laptops plugged-in no matter how long their life is, mostly as desktop replacements plugged-in on their desks.

      Delete
    9. Your old config is as bad as mine is now but your new CPU isn't any better than Core i3 that you replaced. And you don't think enough AMD fanboi. Actually a lot people who think care what is better for what they are doing with their computer but you are not one of them. Wrong some people actually need battery life and thus Intel haswell and Intel 22nm Atom is a far superior choice to AMD.

    10. You are a demented kid after all. You got OCD, brat, and you can't get what you want all the time.
If we don't go with what you say/want, we are stupid/not thinking/irational. In a few years you will grow out of that mentality, so I will just ignore from here on out.
You have no right to label anyone anything because we are what are and choose to be. Also, you are not thinking straight sacrificing price for performance.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu8Sekdb-IE

My FX-4100 loads up games and applications faster, plus I have higher-steady frame rates in games, than the i3-540. And I have proven that I am not losing more in consumption, even with the higher wattage (on the FX-8350 and i5-3570k video), I even underclocked my processor but I just felt like it, it was too fast for me. (Get it, it was too fast for me, so I don't care how better Intel is to you or how better it really is in general).

      Delete
    11. No you're the IDIOT NOT ME!!!! I don't really care what you say about that AMD fanboi. No you haven't proven anything you moron where is your proof? The FX-4100 uses more power than Any of the Core I series CPU's. Yeah I get that your a stuck up POC.

      Delete
    12. And who said that I care about TDP. I pay my bills fine, I hardly waste a dime. I can afford my bills, so I don't care if I am saving/wasting money as you keep saying.
I have shown you a video where Price-Performance still favors AMD, but you will not believe.

You have been more stuck-up with Intel since the beginning, replying negatively about AMD since before I came here, so you should look at the mirror as well.
You can't face the fact that you walked into a brick wall, and can't face that fact the you-yourself are an idiot, like everyone you pro-claim to be.

I just don't care about your "INTEL HAS LOWER TDP" insinuation because you don't know the facts about how much you save over 3 years choosing AMD, and performance is fast. The guy said it, "AMD FX-8350 is fast," and the calculations prove that you save over time staying with AMD. that is if we upgrade over 3 years at a time. AMD pays for itself in a short-course, when users will upgrade within that time period. Imagine the ones that upgrade every generation and chose AMD, brilliant savers. And I don't have to care what you say, Intel fanboy. You have some nerve demeaning people for being who they are, "You're gonna learn, today."

      Delete
    13. You should care about TDP but I never said you did. You're kidding me you don't save a dime going to AMD in fact you spend more money on cooling and electric bills. Only 3 months out of 12 I don't care too much what I spend on electricity because of the hot summer I have to leave the AC on all day and night so my bill doubles every month of the summer. What calculations are you talking about? So what AMD Fx-series does well in a couple games I don't play those games so Intel is by far the better CPU. Oh by the way those so called savings from not switching motherboards is a moot point because your motherboard is most likely very old and I am coming from an Intel PC so I don't care if I have to upgrade the motherboard. What i am going to learn Hmmm?

      Delete
    14. I have a limit on what I want to spend on electricity, yes I pre-plan my payments, but I never reach my limit, not even close. I keep the PC on every night and day, when I feel like it.
It's up to me to care for something or not, anyways.
I got this PC this February, so what is this that my motherboard is old? Maybe old in design, made back in 2010 for first gen Bulldozer, but it is AM3+ and will be made to handle Steamroller, so it is not ancient.
Aha! There is another form factor, you have to buy another motherboard, that's another 30 - 200 dollars added to the processor. So yes, we are saving more going with FX-8350 than an i5-3570.
During winters he hardly turn on the AC, so no need for heating bills, so I am not spending much either. My PC doesn't get hot, must be the liquid cooling that I got when I ordered it, but if it did produce heat, I would love to sit next to it during winters. My blanket is all I need to keep me warm and the winter cold keeps the PC cool, so win-win, savings.

I don't play those games either but if I run my games fine, whether it has a high TDP or not, why come in respond to me about Intel anything? That's the reason I get on you, you come and put down AMD. I favor both AMD and Intel, once again, I tell my friends to get an Intel processor if they are gamers, but one of my friends is an AMD fanboy like me and he will buy AMD no matter what I tell him. And he plays Battlefield 3, one game that favors AMD FX-8350, he even noticed the enhancements over the 8150.

The comparison on Money Saving is on this video that I have placed and someone placed before you even before I knew about it:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4et7kDGSRfc
Almost at the near-end of the video they show you how much you use in Power Consumption, and comparison of how much you save/lose using AMD.

Intels most recent atom still uses terrible power VR graphics worse than in an ipad , the PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 @ 533 MHz .

The AMD 8280g crushes this out of the water it isnt even close.

But that atom you that gets crushed by AMD actually uses far less power than ANYTHING AMD has out or will have out for the next 2 to 3 years but then again AMD won't survive at this rate. Intel's New ATOM is several times faster as everything and thus crushes AMD to the GROUND!!!!

  9. I was talking IGPU..

Intel with all its billions and billions couldn't make a SOC for the PS4 cause they dont have the technology for such a powerful igpu (1.84 Teraflop - equivalent to a 7850 integrated) at such a low power and cost. AMD obviously doesnt see competition from intel in certain fields. Furthermore, intel couldnt make a graphics cards to compete with the 7990 or W9000 apple's choice for the mac pro. if their life depended on it. AMD and intel are two different companies and in two different playing fiels. Comparing their CPU performances and claiming AMD is dead for falling behind in most ancient benchmarks is idiotic and naive to say the least.

    1. You're also wrong on that part. AMD's Temash IGP doesn't even top Intel's HD 3000. Intel doesn't want to make something like that and neither does nvidia. If it weren't for AMD's semi-custom SoC's they would be dead already and then I wouldn't have to hear lots AMD cheerleaders say garbage when Intel is superior and AMD is inferior!!!! IPC is very important in a CPU and AMD is so far behind that they will NEVER catch up.

OH really I forgot to mention that Richland is merely a re-brand for AMD to put ZERO effort while tricking people into thinking its better so that AMD would get more sales. Truth be told though, AMD is actually starting to best Intel with their chips and not everyone is a spoiled kid with parents that are loaded.

  20. It is a known fact that Kaveri will not be the end of AMD, in fact any one in their right mind would be willing to bet hard cash on this fact. The only one that is delusional enough to believe such a thing is you.

    1. The reason I said that it would be end of AMD is because Kaveri most likely won't be good enough for people to buy it and thus Intel wins and AMD suffers a bitter defeat.

      Delete
    2. While Kaveri may not end AMD if screws Kaveri up AMD would of lost their one chance to compete with Intel. 20% IPC boost is not good enough when Intel has a 45% IPC lead over AMD. AMD needs to jump that IPC hurdle and at the same time lower their power usage below 20 watts for their 15 watt APU's.

    3. you known that the amd arquitecture is totally diferent than intel. also intel arquitecture is older than amd.
in my opinion AMD will grow much more and faster than intel because AMD is better technologically in their arquitecture and this will allow to devlope more tecnologies and new improvements The first and secound generations of bulldozzer were a kind of tests to see the market business. The Steamroller will be serious competition for intel, but i want to wait and see the results before talking and pass for an AMD fanboy.

  21. Yes but if Kaveri sports 6 cores then performance will be equivalent to a 4670k when all cores are used , and only 25% behind in IPC with 2 more cores equaling 6 cores vs 4. Throw in a powerful IGP with 1.05 gigaflop + GDDR5 and you have a beast chip.

    1. If Kaveri is going that powerful IGP wise then I might buy it but I am skeptical. For me mobile is important because of low power consumption and AMD needs to work hard if they want to catch up Intel haswell Mobile.

  24. This is kinda.... just... what?
I mean, the amount of processing power is nice, but if it's any more than a 4770k then it's not really worth it. At $300 the 9590 and 9650 might be worth it, but if AMD screw up the pricing here.....

This is pretty good news for AMD where their CPUs are becoming competitive in the higher end. If they are under $300 then it's possible that AMD could have a good streak again.

The 220W kinda turns me away a bit though.

  28. I guess if people have the 999$ to buy an Intel Overpriced CPU go ahead. I will stick with the FX-9590 overclocked to 5ghz using air cooling. (Stock 4.8ghz) AND use the EXACT same motherboard as last year. Asus 990FX R2 usb 3.0 pcie 3.0 board... Well I can see the FX-9590 coming out for around 450-500$ then steadily going down in price to around 300$ by the end of 2014 which is when I will buy one in which case I will give my FX-8350 to my wife to replace her old dual core cpu since she has an AM3+ board she can support the cpu... Can intel claim to do that? NOPE. Almost every cpu "version" for intel that has come out has required a new socket, new cooler, new memory, etc... So AMD you end up spending a LOT less for only minor difference in benchmarks... and real techies know that benchmarks aren't everything.. many are skewed towards one company or the other due to secret tweaks. AMD is just realistic... not everyone can afford a new 1000+$ cpu every year... but most can afford 150-300$ every few years when a major upgrade comes out. I used to be a big Intel guy, and I still am when servers are concerned, but AMD is definitely a better solution for a gaming computer if you want to play all the latest and greatest games at max settings.

  30. Guys don't even bother to argue AMD VS Intel because the current cutting technology is very old and its death will come soon. From what I read there is no way to have less than 10-12 nm transistors so now we are at 22 nm already which means that in just 1-2 years we will reach that 10-12 nm barrier. Then there will be ~1-2 years for fine tuning and probably some software/other tricks improvements and both AMD and Intel will say goodbye to silicon based chips. They might even die together unless they are working on something else already (which I doubt). However I would bet all my money on the new material which was discovered recently called "graphen". It is said that "graphen" will completely change and reshape our world and a new "golden century" will come for all areas (medicine, batteries, computers etc).
