Why are you using the HD 4400 for comparing use the HD 5000 Instead or are you afraid that Intel's HD 5000 is actually faster than Richland which it is.
ReplyDeleteAMD is doing next to nothing to close the IPC gap all they seem to be doing is increasing clock speed which increases power consumption which is really bad. Intel HD 5000 has trinity and Richland beat to a pulp.
ReplyDeleteIntels current Haswell ulv range only includes HD 4400. HD 5100 is in their refresh end of 2013.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me but you are DEAD WRONG Compare the Intel HD 5000 in the 11" and 13" macbook airs. Intel wins AMD loses especially with the fact that Kaveri IS SO PATHETIC!!!!!
DeleteThe air uses the hd 5000 not the hd 5100. The Hd 5000 scores 1035 GPU score in 3dMark 11 , while the AMD 8610G scores 1547 gpu score
ReplyDeletethe only one who is pathetic is you for not looking into your research before making bold claims. Thats a +50% benefit for AMD.

The 3DMark2013 scores on the notebookcheck link in this commenty cant be compared to the ones in my Blog post because those in the comment are GPU scores while the ones in the blog post are total scores. The fact is the 8610G is still a better gpu than the HD 5000 found in the macbook air. Only the HD 5100 will manage to stand a chance.
Wrong AMD richland IS A JOKE!!!! Intel HD 5000 competes with the Radeon HD8650G and easily crushes anything below that. You're the one making bold claims NOT ME PAL!!!! Oh and Intel HD 5000 does get crushed by the power HOGGING 35 watt Kaveri but it CRUSHES Richland to the ground in fire strike. Oh no the HD 5100 and HD 5200 will CRUSH KAVERI INTO THE GROUND no contest!!!!
DeleteREAD THE LINKS DUMBASS ... you dont read before you type... hahah you are a big joke..
DeleteThe 8610g PERFORMS 50% higher in 3dmark11 than the Intel HD 5000 found in ultrabooks.. read the links child
You just say WRONG when i have two links to fully support my argument .. and then you have absolutely no proof to back yours.. lol you are a big joke
DeleteHeh I was referring to fire strike the High end benchmark of 3dmark 2013. OH by the way the 8610g is not that much faster than the 7660G and the HD 5000 places higher than the 8610g.
DeleteWrong it performs on par with the 7660G in 3dmark11. You're links are tell me that you are wrong. AMD is about to get crushed.

Look into the gaming fps
DeleteThat's the thing that's what I am doing right now and it really depends on the game. So you are half way right. Some of benches are skewed so I won't take them into consideration.
DeleteAnd your statement is that they have to be skewed into Intel's favor or it's incorrect.
DeleteGames on low settings favor Intel's graphics due to its processor power.
When we get to higher settings, the GPU is strained more and AMD's 7660 gets more frames beyond Intel's, even with the CPU's help.
I am actually glad to see these results, since I don't like the ultra-books. I feel like the ultra-books will snap in half like nothing but I don't want a bulky laptop, so these thin laptops are key. Maybe a bit thicker, but you get the message.
Intel haswell lowers power consumption dramatically and brings a lot of performance with it. Intel Haswell at 15 watts with the HD 5000 can't be beat. AMD uses more power and/or isn't fast enough to beat Intel's 15 watt chips.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteAnd that means we should buy computers with that processor?
DeleteI rather max out my games as much as possible for visual quality over lower-ugly visual quality because of a save in TDP.
Go ahead and spend 1000+ dollars to get worse performance on an Intel 5000 versus a 600 or less laptop with AMD 7660, or 8610.
Budget-gaming laptop means "AMD wins."
Yes that's right Intel is superior and AMD is inferior. No acutally I will get an Intel NUC for about $600 for complete system. Don't be so sure about that. AMD Budget gaming laptops are CPU bound due AMD's bad IPC!!!!!
DeleteI am sure, AMD has the GPU advantage, but you still look for more things like the IPC and TDP.
DeleteMan, that stuff doesn't matter when you play games and cry because your Intel crappy graphics can't handle it while the AMD graphics are maxing the game out even with a so-called crappy processor.
Bad IPC and bad TDP while keeping crown in GPU power, regardless of CPU limitation. AMD Wins through and through.
Wrong again. Depends on what power envelop AMD is trying to compete in. At 15 watts Intel has NO REAL competition. At 28 watts Intel Iris Pro will use less power but AMD's IGP will be faster. Intel Iris Pro will be in the Mackbook Pro because thin is in and performance per $ IS DEAD!!! Wrong AMD can't max out games worth crap on their CPU's unless they hog power like no tomorrow. Bad IPC, Horrible TDP, and Zero chance of winning AMD IS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzEwJ31F82A And just for the laughs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg_K_TxMwyU. and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxKKKkuhbdM
DeleteThere won't be any AMD-crushing with Intel's Iris Pro graphics. The reason is because they won't compete. The Iris Pro is priced far higher.
DeleteWrong again AMD Richland costs less but not that much less. AMD richland costs well over $200 for the top line APU. Intel mobile is always expensive but Intel Iris Pro does LOTS of AMD-Crushing. Price isn't everything and performance per $ IS DEAD!!!!! Performance per watt is in and price doesn't matter as much in eco-friendly world.
DeletePrice to performance is dead what a joke
Deletein what world do you live in
AMD will have slightly less cpu and far superior gpu for cheaper than intel by kaveri.
PS : You can buy an a10-5750 + 8790 Dual Hybrid Crossfire Laptop for cheaper than the i7 4950hq cpu alone ...
And ontop of that, it will crush the iris in graphics power as iris is only equivilent to the 8790 alone in performance, crossfrie bringing 30-90% increase in performance across the board.
CHECK IT :
AMD 8790 >>> IRIS 5200 ALONE
http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-8790M.86796.0.html
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Iris-Pro-Graphics-5200.90965.0.html
Now imagine crossfire with the 8650G .. its GG
Plus you give AMD NO credability with battery life at all when they are on par or better than intel with descrete graphics inside.
Its stupid for intel to release such a powerful cpu with such a terible gpu.. AMD will always have their CPUs be powerful enough to not bottleneck the iGPU + hybrid crossfire.. so there will be very little difference in games between an A10-5750 and an haswell i7.
MSI chose to throw in an 8970m with an a10-5750m which is just a bad idea all around, but only because the bottleneck is reached with the A10 and not the i7,.. but the key here is price to performance. Getting an intel laptop you can only sport a graphics card up to a 675m or so for the same price as the A10 + 8970m.
Plus understand the 8790m has 384 shaders still at 850 mhz, Kaveri will sport 512 with 900+ mhz..
DeleteIris is toast
More shaders aren't better the 8790m is more powerful than Kaveri and Intel has only 40 shaders yet crushes Trinity's 384 shaders TO DUST!!!!! The 8970m is wasted on AMD's pathetic APU so it as fast as a dGPU + Intel CPU at best. Price to performance is WORTHLESS!!!! I get what is superior and that is Intel HANDS DOWN!!!!! Sure AMD has a superior IGP but not at 15 watts. Kaveri will use much more power than 15 watts and Intel has made big strides in lowering power consumption that AMD can't come close to matching. AMD should increase the amount of shaders and lower their clock-speed and voltage that is what Intel did and its paying off big time. Oh and the Intel laptop with the 675m is faster and use less power to boot.
DeleteOf course I give AMD zero credibility with Battery life because they next to no battery life. And AMD's hybrid crossfire IS WORTHLESS!! So many issues that is makes it pointless. AMD's CPU aren't even in the same league as Intel's especially in single threaded apps which I run a lot of. Intel's IGP is much better at 15 watts and the only that has that kind of TDP from AMD is Kabini and that can't even compare to Intel's ALMIGHTY HASWELL!!!!
DeleteOnce again talking out your ass haha, Prove to me that hybrid crossfire is useless again? I take advantage of it every day. The sad truth is Kaveri will match a 7750 desktop, and the laptop wont be much further behind (only underclocked, and same with ulv, only underclocked) .. This is too far ahead to compare to Iris, they are in two different playing fields.
DeleteIris is for macbook pro like laptops for 1.5k+ where gpu is not the main concern. AMD is for gaming and for graphics power at a much lower price. You have yet to prove anything with regards to Iris being better than hybrid crossfire 8650g+8790m lool.. its worse in every single way other than power consumption .. but if you are talking power consumption then lets talk bettery life.. they are virtually equal depending on the task at hand.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI am comparing GCN to GCN graphics, not to your intel iris .. the 8790m has 384 shaders, and Kaveri has 512 at a higher clock .. this is the same architecture what is so hard to understand? Compare Iris 5200 (the most powerful intel has) to the 8790m alone .. its behind .. SO hybrid crossfire will decimate is in every way.. Worse case scenario is hybrid crossfire is not supported and the 8790m is uses alone .. in which case it STILL beats Iris 5200 in performance.. You keep jumping back and forth between performance and power consumption with no solid argument what so ever... At the end of the day intel has better power consumption, so dont even bring up performance if your just planning on falling back to power consumption as a crutch.
DeleteAnd Lower power consumption is key for me. I also need IGP performance at low power levels and ONLY Intel can provide that. Oh you are wrong I was also comparing the 8790m to Kaveri as well so it was GCN vs GCN!!!! Intel Iris Pro is slightly below the 8790m on notebookcheck. Hybrid crossfire doesn't work well under Linux and that is what my next PC will be using unless I find something EVEN better from apple. I WILL NOT USE WINDOWS 8 even many of you DO. M$ Windows 8 and METRO is a piece of GARBAGE!!!!! I don't care about performance and the cost of power consumption. AMD has GPU performance but at the cost of power usage.
DeleteThen you must be retarded because more shaders means better performance when comparing the same arch....
Delete512 shaders @ 900 mhz > 384 @ 850 mhz ..
Remember that the 8610g performs better than the 7660g .. read my post
ReplyDeleteNo it really doesn't because the 8660g and all of richland's APU's are just trinity re-brands with ZERO improvement.
DeleteYou dont read posts before you respond ...
Deletethe 8610g in the ULTRATHIN FORMFACTOR for A10-5745m RIchland
PERFORMS BETTER THAN
the 7660g in the LAPTOP FORMFACTOR for A10-4600m Trinity
based on the clocks and core count for gpu ]
(the gpu otherwise is exact the same)
SO .. compare an 7660g from the A10-4600m vs IRIS 5000 found in an APPLE AIR ... and you see how IRIS falls behind..
Like i said, intel struggles at low power, iris only shines in the 55W range.
Wrong The Intel HD 5000 is on par with the 7660G and sometimes passes the 8610g. And Notebookcheck places it higher so its faster.
DeleteHere's how that works.
DeleteThe GPU can be optimized for programs, like many things Intel optmizes for and makes it auto-unoptimized for other CPUs, and they have been sued for that.
Notebook places the GPU higher because of the 3DMark and the other Synthetic tests, but that is because of the help of the CPU in most cases. Also, just because they are made to surpass in those tests it doesn't mean that they are made to surpass in games, maybe a driver problem but they don't match AMD in higher settings.
So what that doesn't matter for games. Intel's HD 5000 IS PURE AWESOME its only downside is price. But AMD is just as expensive when it comes to the full product. Besides Intel HD 5000 has a lot of compute power for a 15 watt TDP CPU. 704 GFLOPS to be precise AMD's APU's have NOTHING on INTEL.
DeleteAt least you admit that AMD wins in gaming at lower prices.
DeleteYes, the down-side for Intel's processor is price.
Stop blabbing about the higher-ends being better unless you buy one.
Besides you, who cares?
No one here gives a damn about the TDP.
Besides, you comment on peoples' comments about your own personal ambition. Why do I care about how much TDP and IPC when I am still going to buy and AMD product? I know enough about the IPC, I don't need a little brat repeating it over and over when I never cared for it. Even so, TDP and IPC won't make change my purchasing decisions, at all since they don't affect me. You reply on how it affects you while replying on someone else's comment, I didn't come to hear crap from Intel's side/fanboys. This is the AMD section, find your right place, you seem lost. Do you need me to hold your hand and lead you back to the right place?
I rather go with and 6800 and save tons of money, the difference makes up for the watts I am going to consume and paying the electric bill, while laughing at the performance over the HD 5200.
It does matter for games because the GPUs can do video over 4K resolution, so games are the only thing that's left to compare. You would not believe people that game on the APUs(Tons out there), and being able to crossfire is what pounds Intel's GPUs to the ground.
You are such and IDIOT AMD Crossfire IS A JOKE. Half the time it doesn't even work and even when it does it uses too much power and the performance gains are negligible AT BEST!!! I like troll but I hate stupid people like you just as much as I like trolling. AMD won a battle that is pointless so what. What will you do when AMD DIES? You are blind and an IDIOT!!!! Congrats on space heater Fanboi!!!! Its people like you that make me want to vomit!!!! Wrong again pal 4K is the future but 1080p is the here and now and that's what I got base my gaming on. There is no right place for some who likes Intel? The product I want isn't released yet but soon will be. The best competition that AMD offers in the market I am looking for is Kabini and AMD Kabini is mediocre at best. The Intel Haswell NUC is what I am looking to buy for myself and AMD has NOTHING that can even come CLOSE in power or performance per watt to Intel haswell ULT. AMD's APU's can't do 4K gaming either and Intel GPU's are so much better at OpenCL.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteRichland 8610g beats the HD 5000 ... Kaveri will make a mockery of it
ReplyDeleteKaveri will be faster but it will use twice the power to do so. Thus INTEL WINS AGAIN and AMD LOSES FATAL K.O.!!!! Battery life is more important than GPU performance in notebook and thus Intel is superior!!!! Oh by the way KAVERI like richland IS A FUCKING JOKE!!!!
DeleteNo, here is the F-in joke, and it's not a "Ha-ha" joke either.
DeleteYou say anything against AMD, or anything you can find.
If the processor is faster, you insult it for TDP.
If the processor is cooler/less wattage, you insult it for IPC.
So, you will never stop saying anything against AMD even if it is better. Even if Intel was slower and/or hotter, you will only label the IPC or TDP that favors Intel's at that point.
Yes, Kaveri will be faster. Broadwell will be faster. They will all be faster than their own previous generation, even if it doesn't compete with the other company's newest/to-come generation.
Actually, Kaveri will not use 2X the power to be faster, it is just higher clocked to match/surpass the previous generation.
Yes, I recently heard about having a smaller die nanometer size does make things hotter, that could be why Intel's processors have problems overclocking, so Intel keeps it at bay when the processor could perform so much better, tough to see how when the thing gets hot when overclocked, nowadays.
FX-4100 3.6 with Turbo Core of 3.8
FX-4300 3.8 with Turbo Core of 4.0
Both have the same TDP of 95W. And I hear that FX-4300 is cooler.
What was this about faster but twice the power to do so?
AMD is not faster and Kaveri will not change that not even close. In games Kaveri will no doubt be faster but it will use twice the power of Intel's Haswell ULT 15 watts in order to do so. I am comparing Intel haswell ULT vs AMD Kaveri ULV FIGHT. Intel Haswell at 15 watts EASILY WINS FATAL K.O.!!!! AMD Kaveri will only be faster at 35 watts while Intel will be just as fast if not faster at lower TDP levels. Wrong again they both WAY TOO MUCH POWER!!!!! IF that's the only downside to ultra low power i'll take it over something that uses much more power with similar IGP performance.
DeleteOkay, so in your stand-point, you will not buy it because it will be hotter than Intel.
DeleteI will still buy them because I want to.
I will even under-clock them as 3.5GHz is enough in speed for my needs. Lowering the clock and the TDP drops and I have a cooler Processor, something you fail to place into logics.
Fast but cheap, totally worth it to me.
You can go and pull your pennies together to afford the best from the Intel, I am not doing that much.
Take a rest jml12, we know you hate AMD... by all means, just buy an Intel chip and be happy with it.
ReplyDeleteAMD Kaveri is a FUCKING JOKE. DDR3-2933 memory requirement makes Kaveri even more of a joke and thus AMD can't compete with Intel Iris without expensive memory.
DeleteLike i said, just buy and Intel Haswell or Broadwell and be for ever happy with it, you don`t really need to shit on AMD to be a Happy Intel Customer. I am still wondering why have you not gotten a Haswell CPU if you claim power usage is your main concern.
DeleteI will not be getting Kavery nor FX-9650, even less the Turd FX-9590, my eyes are set on Excavator, since it is not worth jumping from FX-8350 to Steamroller, 30% performance increase is good just not that good, i rather wait a little longer for a massive performance increase besides the FX-8150 and FX-8350 will be supported for quite a while with the newer Games since 95% of the new games that have come out since the end of 2012 has been optimized for Bulldozer and Radeon hardware.
I really don`t care what type of Ram Kaveri uses, it will still be HUMA which will blow the dust to anything that we have today even if it`s not GDDR5, besides AMD will eventually use GDDR5 next year, so not a big loss.
OpenCL, HUMA and HSA are the future in Gaming, i don`t see Intel even competing in those department thanks mostly to consoles using AMD hardware, Intel will have a nice piece of his own cake... yes, the same cake Intel has been given AMD all these years with biased Benchmarks fully optimized for Intel like Cinebench and Sysmark, and all the games out there that mostly utilize Intel Compilers that will give the slowest path to non Intel CPUs.
Intel will no longer be competition in Gaming, even with brute force they will lag behind. There is no way Intel can compete with HSA and HUMA.
When Console games get ported to PC they will be instantly optimized for AMD hardware, besides Intel GPU`s are SHIT! nVidia and AMD are light years ahead in the High End performance segment, Intel will never catch up with nVidia and AMD in the high end graphics, by the time Intel catches up on the top end GeForce/Radeon cards they will be at least 3-4 years ahead, Intel has been butthurt for ages in graphics.
Intel CPU have a monstrous IPC which helps A LOT in CURRENT games, but that is about to change since games from the future will start using as much cores as available, leaving Single Performance usage mostly obsolete.
This is fact, AMD is here to stay... like or not, AMD will be here at least for the next Decade.
P.S. Centurion FX-9590 SUCKS BALLS... what the Fuck was AMD thinking? why did not instead used the Piledriver+ Architecture used in Richland and released new FX with slightly higher Speeds? everytime AMD seems to have a Win they first release yet another Fail... geesh.
Wrong AMD won't be here for that long unless they turn themselves around. AMD is releasing failure after failure and when AMD looks like it going to release something good it ends up either being mediocre or a complete pile of rubble. Intel will adapt and when then do their awesome IPC with lots of cores will crush AMD into the ground FOR GOOD!!!!! How can I root for AMD when they don't have anything that can compete with Intel or even ARM for that matter? Consoles are a wash for AMD only one of them is decent and the other SUCK MAJOR BALLS!!!!! Wrong Intel has OpenCL on Iris Pro. Intel will still be superior to AMD hands down. Oh what I want hasn't been released just yet. Even without Intel using compilers to help its CPU reign supreme Intel still uses a lot less power and has much better IPC than AMD. Wrong Intel can and will compete with HSA and huma because both of them are just fads.
DeleteIGP will be better than that IRIS PRO, which comes in those expensive processors, yes the 5200 series. All we do is sacrifice a few 100 dollars more for faster RAM, we still win in price.
DeleteAnd for the TDP, it wouldn't matter, since the price of a i7-4950 is going to give Kaveri 5+ years before our Power Bill catches up to the price of the Intel processor alone. If we use the APU for gaming, then processor doesn't mean much, and the processors should be better than current AMD processors, so it could be too much as it is.
Sure AMD's IGP might be better in games but not in compute power where Intel is now unmatched. That's 100 dollars I'd rather spend on low power Intel components. Performance per watt had always been important to me and Intel wins and AMD LOSES BADLY!!!!! Not even Kaveri will match Intel haswell's low power consumption. Kaveri's IGP might be faster in gaming but it will use twice the power and cost almost as much so its pointless for me to go AMD. AMD really badly needs to lower their mainstream APU's power consumption otherwise Intel will crush them into the ground.
DeleteHave you actually seen the OpenCL benchmarks of the 7970GE? you seriously think Iris can compete against those monstrous opencl benchmarks? if you compare the top Graphics from intel against the top Graphics from AMD, Intel looks like a sperm... now if you compare AMD APU against IRIS there is not much difference, now if you compare AMD CPU against Intel CPU the difference is between 15-30% difference.
ReplyDeleteSo.. who has better performance ratio overall CPU/GPU? Intel has faster CPUs but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay slower GPU, AMD has somewhat slow CPU and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY Faster GPU.
Iris is a Joke, it Olmost gives the performance of a HD5770 for the price of 1000 USD where the HD7750 has the olmost the same performance for about 90 USD... Again, IRIS IS A JOKE don´t even bring forth the Iris argument, you may have somewhat valid CPU arguments but in the GPU you are totally lost.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6993/intel-iris-pro-5200-graphics-review-core-i74950hq-tested/10
Look at these benchmarks, they are LAUGHABLE, they cant even surpass the GeForce 640 in gaming!
Single Core performance represent the past and will become OBSOLETE, the future is Multi-Core Performance, HSA, HUMA and OpenCL.
Check this AMD Radeon HD7970GE OpenCL benchmarks:
http://clbenchmark.com/result.jsp
HD7990 583,714 Points
HD7970Ghz 316,255 Points
GTXTitan 300,322 Points
GTX780 245,118 Points
GTX470 112,625 Points (my current GPU)
HD5770 39,399 Points
i7 3960X 34,186 Points
i7 4770k 28,645 Points
The GT3e Pro has about 832 GFLOPS, the HD5770 has about 1.2TFlops, that Iris Pro GPU is a JOKE Big Time and Intel Can´t even beat an AMD Radeom Mid range GPU from 2010, now a days the HD5770 is considered a very very low end gpu, just check the highest Intel 3960X OpenCL puny score of 32,186 points, against AMD HD7990 583,714 Points.
I have no idea what Intel will do in the gaming segment of next gen Games, yes they are getting MUCH MUCH Better but they are still many years behind nVidia/AMD, but it does not looks bright at this moment for Intel, like i previosly said next gen games will be fully optimized for AMD Hardware and you can even see this taking effect now, like a shitty FX-8350 beating the mighty i7 3770 and i7 4770 in Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite, Devil May Cry, Farcry 3 and other new titles.

http://www.pcgameshardware.de/screenshots/original/2013/02/Crysis-3-Test-CPUs-VH-720p.png
See? and this is just the beggining... how come a shitty FX-8350 beats the mighty i7 3770? thank that to the next Gen consoles who use AMD hardware completely.
Just take a rest man, buy an Iris Pro CPU be for ever happy.
Intel will need more than Single Core Performance Brute force to beat the AMD Console optimizations, just the Console optimizations gives AMD a minimum of 10% performance increase, HSA will bost to a minimum of 30% increase and HUMA will bring a minimum of 50% performance thanks to the massive bandwidth and Memory shorcuts of future AMD hardware.
DeleteAMD HUMA memory will perform faster than comparable Ram at the same Speed or faster than Intel, AMD will still perform Much faster thanks to HUMA and HSA, GDDR5 will just be overkill.
You think adding more Intel cores will help Intel? think again... even though Consoles and AMD use x86, it is not the exact same architecture as Intel, intell will need much much more than Brute Force IPC and many more Cores.
You should read this:
Deletehttp://www.pcper.com/reviews/Processors/AMD-Details-hUMA-HSA-Action
It explains very good what HSA and HUMA will bring in terms of Performance.
HSA and HUMA are meaningless to me then because they don't improve gaming performance nor do they reduce power consumption.
DeleteWrong AMD won't use GDDR5 because it would be bad for console sales. I think you are overestimating AMD big time. I don't think HSA and HUMA will solve AMD's bandwidth problem and Kaveri IS A BIG FAT JOKE!!!!! Kaveri will still use way too much power. OH what do you think Intel will need? Brute force IPC will still help games big time AMD, M$, and sony can't change that. All i see is games use more cores and Intel can and will easily fix that problem so AMD will be in an even bigger fix and then goodbye AMD and their stupid fanbois.
DeleteWhat you mean by HSA and HUMA will not improve performance in Gaming? any HSA/HUMA enabled application running on AMD next gen hardware will benefit from them, there is a whole Video demoed in Computex where 4 Cores are running in a "New Map" fighting against Blue monsters and there is a Obvious HSA Enabled feature in the Video, HSA and HUMA will be mainly used in Gaming but not limited to just Gaming.
ReplyDeleteLike i said, HSA and HUMA will massively improve performance because memory will not have to do work arounds in order to communicate with the CPU/GPU at the same time, saving tons of cycles which will relate in less heat and more eficiency... did you even read the article i posted about HSA/HUMA? even if AMD does not use GDDR5 in Kaveri and stick to slow DDR3, the HUMA enabled memory will still perform FASTER than regular DDR3 on intel, it´s a fact but you just have to listen to what devs and AMD claim. Also, GDDR5 will hit APUs anyway even if it does not get used with Kaveri, no big deal... would had been great but is still good with DDR3 as long as HUMA gets featured.
You think AMD fanboys are stupid? you should look yourself in a mirror and notice the big blue shirt you are wearing in your reflection, so far i have not seen such a blind Intel fanboy ever in all my life, you are THE worst Intel worshipper (yeah you´re in a higher level to put you as a Fanboy) posting thrash against AMD all over the Internet... how can you call others stpid fanboys when you are clearly the worst fanboy ever? you spend tons of hours posting and checking tons of Tech site News and Blogs for anything AMD related for your usual Anti-AMD hate.
You alone cannot bring down AMD, not even Intel was able to do it with all their billions and believe me, Intel has tried their best and failed. this is a known story that you can even read about like Intel bribing BILLIONS to all PC Vendors into not selling AMD CPUs, bribing Benchmark tools into lower the numbers against non Intel CPUs and do i have to mention the Intel Compilers playing dirty against AMD?
In high performance Desktop Energy usage is IRRELEVANT, since the power usage in a whole YEAR compared to i7 CPUs against FX CPUs is about 20 Bucks, seriously? who cares for 20 bucks a year in power usage... NOT ME. just look at this video (BUT WATCH IT DAMN IT!):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu8Sekdb-IE
The guy (Logan) is mostly Pro Intel and has been lately featuring fiercely the new Haswell arch since release, so there is no bias against Intel.
AMD will not die, no matter how hard you try vomiting and spitting turds out of your mouth against AMD.
You know why AMD struggles to beat Intel? BECAUSE EVERYTHING WAS DEVELOPED with INTEL in mind, the whole fucking industry has been using Intel compilers for AGES... AMD made sure to grab the whole industry into optimize software for AMD hardware, no matter how hard you try or how many brute force you put in your CPU if every single software will take the slowest path code if your CPU its not an Intel.
That`s the whole damn reason for HSA and HUMA with the new gen of applications and the consoles to bring the optimziations into AMD CPUs, what part of that you don`t understand?
Intel using brute force and more cores may still beat AMD even with HSA/Huma, but who would get Intel hardware when it will be barely faster than AMD with a massively higer price? this is what is going to happen in the next 2 years and it is already happenind, did you even checked the new games CPU Bencharks? Intell may still be ahead but it will not be worth for the prices they ask.
Just take a long rest, go out with your girlfriend (or boyfriend if you are into that kind of stuff), hang out with other Intel users or at least go out and walk in the park with your mom or dog... but for X Sake just calm down and just buy your Intel Hardware.
There is surely other things you can do with your life on all those free hours you got. At least play some games or something online... Get Steam and give us your username so we can send you gifted games or something.
I do have steam and my username is jmlxg. I play borderlands mostly with a little bit of left 4 dead on steam. I should play torchlight 2 and hard reset. Which games do you play? Truthfully I would rather not see AMD die however I don't like their half-baked products like the bulldozer arch and everything based on bulldozer. I watched the video you linked and AMD only comes out ahead in a few games and in multitasking. Its starting to feel like Intel isn't worth the price. Most AMD fanbois like most Apple fanboi aren't very bright and they ignore facts. No I wasn't trying to bring AMD down I was try to troll. Ever since the bulldozer fiasco and AMD richland I can't take what AMD says at face value I always have to see third party reviews. I didn't see the demo your talking about.
Deleteyeah, with steamroller seeing this sort of massive price surge, AMD is kinda losing out on their price/performance advantage, which is pretty much their only and largest advantage. If their FX-8770 is around the price of the 8350, or if they introduce FX-8520 and FX-8550 sort of thing for around $200, then this might not be as bad for them as it seems.
DeleteWe'll see.
Massive price surge?
DeleteThose processors FX-9370 and 9590 were just limited edition premium processors, surely you can't go with that idea as base for the next processors.
The next generation of processors will possibly be at the same price when the FX-8350 came out, unless they do have a massive performance boost that competes with Intel's i7-4770, which is possible not to likely happen.
Bulldozer was a new architecture that they wanted to test out, and there has been some things that make it perform less, like new instructions that programs weren't ready for. Bulldozer was just an idea, like the Tick-Tock thing Intel does, to see if AMD can get back in the game.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/display/20111013232215_Ex_AMD_Engineer_Explains_Bulldozer_Fiasco.html
So What AMD flopped big time and will never get back in the game. Discrete GPU's are going to be obsolete soon. In a couple years time to be exact. Bulldozer SUCKS plain and simple and it's going to cost AMD EVERYTHING!!!!
Deletejm12 you dont even read peoples comments which follow normal logic.. you just continuously say "AMD IS A JOKE HSA IS A JOKE KAVERI IS A JOKE". With absolutely no proof or support for your arguments you continue to look like a big fool. I just proved to you that the RICHLAND 8610G is 50% more powerful than you're intel iris 5000 in the air which you claim "CRUSHES RICHLAND" ... you are a big joke.
ReplyDeleteWrong you proved NOTHING expect that the HD 500 is faster than both the 8610g and the 7660g.
DeleteHave you seen PCMARK 8 score in the computex 2013 AMD presentation? The A10-6800k BEATS the i5 4670k. PCMARK 7 is old tech.. every new benchmark puts AMD ahead of intel.. Just wait for HSA and HuMA , Brute Force just wont work anymore.. Intel needs a new strategy.
ReplyDeleteAnd What kind of strategy does Intel need? I think they are doing pretty well so far. HSA and HUMA is a laughable at best and they don't solve the real problem AMD is having with memory bandwidth.
Deletepathetic you dont look at the facts.. the 8610g is more powerful than the hd 5000
ReplyDeleteNope I did look at facts and fanboi's like you that don't look at the obvious fact that the 7660g ties and sometimes gets beaten by the HD 5000. You never want to admit that Intel is better and that AMD has lost.
Deleteoverall gpu performance :
ReplyDelete8610g > 7660g > HD 5000 look at all the benchmarks .. not just one
If ultrathins ever get dual graphics with kaveri they will shine over iris.. its not uncommon to see dedicated graphics cards in ultrabooks these days
ReplyDeleteIGP crossfire really isn't all that powerful. Plus it will cost more than Intel Iris and use more power. Intel haswell already has a HUGE advantage in battery life both at load and at idle. Using crossfire with the IGP will make AMD's lack of battery life even MORE apparent.
DeleteIntel Iris is expensive as is.. the 4950hq is a 650 dollar chip .. JUST the cpu..
ReplyDeleteIm saying there are intel ultrabooks with 8000 series amd gpus, so if they are also put into ultrathins then the performance will be significantly higher than any iris ultrabook gpu.
Ahahah...Wrong Nvidia has won 95% of the ultrabook dGPU designs AMD is now just making GPU's for their crappy APU's and CPU's. Nvidia and Intel wins AMD LOSES DOUBLE FATAL K.O.!!!!!
Deletehttp://www.techpowerup.com/175785/asus-vivobook-u38dt-ultrabook-pops-up-with-radeon-hd-8550m-graphics.html
ReplyDeletethats an example
Imagine with the A10-5745 + 8570m dual graphics in ultrathin
How do you know so much about steamroler;
ReplyDeleteHere guys read this: http://wccftech.com/amd-berlin-server-apu-glimpse-upcoming-kaveri-apu-4-steamroller-cores-512-gcn-sps/
ReplyDeleteKaveri RT2lv will crush HD 5000.. its competition will be in HD 5100 NOT HD 5000...
ReplyDeleteNOTE : HD5100 is in a 28W chip, while HD 5000 is in a 15W chip...
Intel cant match AMD's GPU performance with their low tdp chips. AMD 8610g beats HD 5000 hands down across the board except for 1 or 2 tests .. sometimes by over 30-40%!
Add dual graphics in ultrathin form factor, and performance goes up 35-80%!
No I don't think so but Kaveri's IGP at 35 watts will for sure faster at games however Kaveri will never match Intel's OpenCL prowess. Remember Richland isn't any faster than Trinity and uses more power too. YOur solution will use at least 3 times the power and only be about 1.5 times faster AT MOST!!!!
DeleteI use a laptop that i got for 459 USD ... TOTAL
ReplyDeleteUses AMD 7660G + 7670m hybrid crossfire! Competes with HD 5200 directly.. but the sad thing is that iris 5200 cpu costs 650 USD ..just the CPU, and a laptop costs around 1300.
At the point in which i have to spend 1300, I would choose a much better performing laptop than an iris 5200 55W i7, such as a laptop with a 780m or 8970m which would CRUSH intel like its a big joke lol .. intel cant keep up with discrete graphics, it is pathetic that you think iris is the end of discrete gpus when it cant even scratch a GT 640 .. while a 780m = GTX 680 underclocked, and a 8970m = 7870 ghz edition ..
while iris 5200 = GT 630 .. lool joke for the price
AMD does a WAY better job of making igpus because they have them in the entry level , where people would get them because of price to performance, not just got igpu performance and power consumption ..
igpu performance and ultra low power consumption are all that matter to me in a CPU. It was a used laptop that uses at least 100 watts of power and makes LOTS OF NOISE TO BOOT!!! Intel will get better with the Haswell refresh and then it will TRULY CRUSH AMD INTO THE GROUND!!!!!! Crossfire IS A JOKE!!!!
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8p9rSwc_uQ
ReplyDeleteCheck the framerate and temps of both systems... i think AMD is faster, cooler and actually loaded much faster haha.
Wrong Intel is faster and uses MUCH LESS POWER TO BOOT!!!!! Intel is a bit hotter because of the smaller die but that's the trade-off for ultra low power chips. That Video isn't even in English and has terrible music so I didn't watch much of it. Here's what I think of that Video and OF AMD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eYSpIz2FjU
DeleteHell yeah the music is CRAP... he totally ruined his own video, but you can mute the video hehehe.
DeleteThose are the AMD hardware optimizations from the AMD Gaming Evolved i been talking about... and that is just the beginning.
DeleteThose AMD optimizations don't prevent AMD from using too much power and they only work in windows. So I am going to run Linux so Intel is the prime choice for me. By the way AMD's Linux Drivers SUCK ASS!!!!
DeleteBut i thought you said Single Threading was everything for you...
DeleteSingle Threading is getting obsolete starting this generation, you still have a good point about the TDP, AMD Does need to lower massively their Max Wattage usage.
Crazy Single Threading will matter no more in the next 2 years, everything will go True MultiThreading and in that AMD may still have a win against Intel, even if Intel adds more cores AMD will perform equal thanks to the specific optimizations for AMD and future Software.
I like Linux, i am sick of Windows... Windows need to go ASAP, their DirectX is getting in the way of true open software, OpenGL is the way to go as with OpenCL... i hope Valve does something about it, they are the only ones big enough to take on Microsoft.
i want to get rid of Microsoft and Windows as soon as i can.
Left4Dead2 is about 30-40% faster just by porting it to Linux, i would love to game under Linux.
Not entirely but Intel has pushed single thread x86 IPC to the limit all the while lowering power consumption. I really hate to tell you this but AMD's Optimizations aren't WORTH crap in Linux they only work in Windows. Me too I am also sick of M$ Windows and I am suck of AMD releasing failure after failure if they aren't going to do it right then they should stand aside and let someone who will do it right take over. Me too and Yeah I heard of that I wonder when we see some performance figures?
DeleteClassic jm12 doesnt see the evidence in front of him
ReplyDeleteHmm...What Evidence are you talking about again? Classic jml12 is a troll.
DeleteVideo evidence of an amd rig crushing a more expensive intel nvidia in performance
ReplyDeleteThat so called Video evidence is worthless. Right now AMD is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzEwJ31F82A. And here is a video just for the laughs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg_K_TxMwyU. I am going to use Linux so Intel rules there because AMD has TERRIBLE CPU's AND EVEN WORSE LINUX DRIVERS!!!! And I don't think they have gotten any better.
DeleteKick that jml12 troll ^^
ReplyDeleteLoL .. "price to performance is dead" ...
ReplyDeletegoodluck with that
Yep it sure is. Lower power consumption and green computing is all the rage now and AMD isn't included because they use too much power. Not even Temash has low enough power consumption. History has proven that AMD chips use 1.5 to 3 times the TDP in power usage and Temash easily uses 10+ watts for the whole system and thus also puts in striking range for Intel haswell which AMD stand no chance against.
DeleteHoly F... the following article will blow your mind:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.expertreviews.co.uk/processors/1299913/the-big-interview-apus-hsa-and-where-next-for-amd
Read the part where AMD claims 500% performance increase! that souns a little bit too much... i expect up to 50% though, time will tell.
AMD always overhypes and exaggerates EVERYTHING they say unlike Intel which doesn't do it nearly as much. So AMD is using GPU programming as a crutch and an excuse for their WEAKSAUCE APU'S!!!! AMD now needs to push the limits of x86 and lower their power consumption by half at least.
Deleteintel 15W
ReplyDeleteamd 25W
